20160521 BIO歐美翁心得

先來個條列式

1. 人爆炸多，跟逛尖峰時段的逢甲夜市一樣

2. 預售票先入場，再來才輪到現場購票的入場，所以如果想搶先進場，買預售票還得很早來排隊

3. 終於知道所謂的吃土是什麼感覺......錢莫名其妙就變成抱在手上的本了.......

4. 偷聽旁邊的人說，這次人好多，感覺CWT也沒這麼多人

5. coser都好認真喔XDD，捲福跟約翰讓我嘴巴一直忍不住裂開，Supergirl超猛，真的做了泳衣式的制服，大腿以下都是光的耶

6. 買本時沒有攤位要求看我的證件讓我小失落......

7. 人好多好難逛>"<，都擠不進去看，沒辦法像上次動物only一樣逛個一圈仔細看完之前再開始掃

8. 大手的攤好恐怖喔，只是看到某攤人比較少所以湊過去看擺出來的商品，立刻被後面的人冷冷地說「要排隊」，往後一看都排到天邊去了，我又沒有要買......

9. 看到有興趣的本或週邊還是先買再說，不然就要記攤位，今天的會場太大了，才剛離開就找不到剛剛看好決定要買的本，可惡啊

10. 以後如果要逛這種攤位很多的場，還是事先把所有社團的販賣品都掃過一遍，列出想買的直接過去看比較好，真的無法「順順逛」耶

particular? specific?

令人混淆的單字釋疑又來了，今天遇到的情境是想要寫一句類似"刪除特定序號的資料"，這邊要用particular或是specific？

先看一下牛津英英字典上對兩個字的解釋

specific

• detailed and exact (synonym precise)
• connected with one particular thing only (synonym particular 驚!!)

particular

• used to emphasize that you are referring to one individual person, thing or type of thing and not others (synonym specific)
• greater than usual; special

單看字典還是無法理解，拜了google大神後，大致了解如下。

specific可以看成類似特定的概念，想法或觀點，而particular是指單一的物件，如果將special也放進來一起比較，可以用下面這張圖略作解釋，specific是令你講的東西更加明確，而particular就是那一點，專指很單一特定的物件。



回到最初的問題，"刪除特定序號的資料"這句我會寫成"delete the data of particular serial number"。

Rely on? Lean on? Depend on? Count on?

今天聽到Lean on這首歌，對這幾個中文意思差不多的英文片語感到疑惑，所以稍微查了一下，雖然看英英釋義可以大概了解其差異，但真正要運用可能還得再內化練習。

先看一下劍橋線上字典的定義

rely on sb/sth

• to need a particular thing or the help and support of someone or something in order to continue, to work correctly, or to succeed
• to trust someone or something or to expect them to behave in a particular way

lean on sb

• to try to make someone do what you want by threatening or persuading them

depend on/upon sb/sth

• to trust someone or something and know that they will help you or do what you want or expect them to do

count on sb

• to be confident that you can depend on someone

就定義看起來，lean on只能接sb，而且是較為強迫性的要求對方做到，rely on可以接sb或sth，語氣較和緩且帶有期待，如果對方沒有做到，這件事情(應該)也能自行完成。

depend on和count on都是基於對方會同意的前提(且對方的確是會同意做這件事)，count on的語氣又較為強烈，期待更高。

如果有機會能遇到英文教師或是外籍教師請教一下這幾個片語的用法最好。
